Algorithm for Gauss-elimination method & Newton-raphson method?

Head scratch back to 1st year at University, doh! Gaussian Elimination is like the elimination method of solving simultaneous equatins only in a matrix. Blowed if I can remember Newton Raphson. Never used either in 20 years since "learning" them.
