What happens if you force feed a puppy water if he doesn't want to eat or drink?

My puppy is getting thinner and thinner by the day. I took him to the vet yesterday and the vet gave me some dietary supplements that i can give him when he does not want to eat but what about when he does not want to drink water? can i give him pedialite so he doesn't get dehydrated? and he is throwing up and he seems to have an upset stomach? BTW i have been force feeding him water through a bottle because i'm scared that he's going to die of dehydration...
