Why do people hate other religions?

In bashing religion, atheists ARE being nice to religious people, in the same way that a surgeon is being nice to a cencer sufferer by attacking their tumour. We seek to remove an illness which afflicts the sufferer, whether or not the sufferer is aware of the nature of that illness.
