Why R Pepcid AC Chewable not available?

My friend who works in a pharmacy told me that there gonna be Pepcid shortage soon. Not only of Pepcid AC Chewable ones, which, you're right, were recalled, but also of regular Pepcid (Famotidine) tablets. They are not produced anymore cause plant was closed by FDA. I have already purchased generic brand version of Pepcid available in UK - Famot & Nocid.
