Why G.F.I.outlet not working after install!!?

I replaced a G.F.I.electrical outlet,with a new one. Wired it according to the directions and the way the other one was.It's the same brand(Levi tron). I turned the breaker back on and have power @ the G.F.I. but none going to the other two outlets.Can't reset the G.F.I.by the test ons?I touched the in line power supply to the lines that are hooked up in the G.F.I.series and had power to them,confirmed with an outlet light tester.Any information & suggestions would be greatly helpful!!
