Is there a faster way to get my Marines DEP Discharge so I can go to another military branch?

I am currently in the marines DEP program and through a roller coaster ride with him, I am ready to move on to another branch of service. I just got in the house from going up to the office to give him a letter for the commanding officer. Was that the right thing to do? The recruiter said I have to wait till my shipping date to get my DEP discharge paper. I want to join another branch and none will really deal with me until I'm completely out of the marines. So is there a way I can contact the commanding officer, or get this process expedited?
