I live week to week,I'm 40 years old(I'm thinking it's too late to start saving now)?

I keep seeing commercials like "Ask Charles". Where I guess other people take my money and make it grow? Generally how much money should I have to start?I want to ask them the questions,but I'm so completely illiterate about this kind of thing I'm afraid I'll look really stupid for asking some of the questions I would ask.Also do you know if there's some investment that I can start at just $5 or $10 a week and grow from there?Any info on how this whole thing operates would be great.
